New central library in Calgary, Canada

Lammhults Biblioteksdesign A/S has been appointed supplier of library furniture to the new central library in Calgary, Canada, opening November 2018.

With an area of 22,000 square metres spread over 5 levels, the library will contain 7,000 metres of shelf space for storage and display of books and other media. Slimline shelving system will be adapted to meet the requirements of both the architects and the library. LED light will be installed on every single shelf with almost invisible fixture and wiring.

The building is designed by norwegian Snøhetta’s design office in New York with interior design by Calgary based Dialog in close cooperation with Snøhetta.
