Founded in Nördlingen, Germany, Schulz Speyer first furnished cinemas, lecture halls and conference rooms. But it wasn’t long before the focus shifted entirely towards libraries, and the company relocated to the more centrally positioned city of Speyer.
Hans Richard Schulz was not only a skilled businessman; he was also a visionary with a technical curiosity. Known in the industry as “Bibliothekspapst” (Pope of Libraries) – he shaped the way library furniture was developed in Germany. Many of his early inventions are still in use across libraries today, underscoring his legacy of innovation.
Over the years, Schulz Speyer has furnished countless libraries, each with its own identity, purpose and atmosphere.
