Room with a view

“Room with a view” is how the library staff archly describe their new library. Understandable too. After years of housing in a gray building, located outside the center, with a library on several floors - including creaking stairs - the people of Boom are now welcomed in an open space with a view of the quay of the Rupel.

The design, from anversa architecture & development, fully supports the library in its activities. There is room for meeting, organizing activities, research work, relaxing with a drink, making new contacts, etc.

The design, the finish and the lighting give the library its own identity.
Integrated lighting on the library shelves and the directional lighting in the ceiling provide a sophisticated lighting concept that guides and entices visitors further into the library.
When it comes to finishing, it is primarily the natural materials and colors that speak. The concrete of the building, the wood of the counter, the lowered ceiling and the raw steel of the library racks. All these interior elements synergistically contribute to a welcome library feeling.
