A new town icon
After years of not having a purpose-built location and being housed in a provisional building, the doors of the brand new Zoersel Public Library opened on 24 January 2015. The specified building's unique architecture and central location naturally turned it into the new town icon. It offers cozy reading spaces, study and laptop tables and custom-designed furniture. The combination of clean, white shelving alongside eye-catching, birch wood, hexagonal shapes that are punctuated with oranges and yellows, creates a modern yet calming atmosphere that draws people in from off the street. With a separate computer room and various meeting rooms, this library is fully attuned to the needs of its community and definitely deserves its new place in the heart of the town.
