Redesigned accessible library

In the smaller town, Svinninge, the local library has been redesigned and is now a partly open, unmanned library.

The majority of the library users are families, elderly and students and the new design reflects this.

Books and other library materials are now much easier to find due to repositioning of furniture and addition of end panels with clear signage to existing shelving systems.

There is now more space for seating areas and Info pods are used as easy accessible info points.

In the children’s area existing wooden boxes have been used to create a cave with addition of a periscope for exploration and fun.

Selected walls are covered with graphics bringing a sense of nature and calmness into the library.
