Vibrant and inviting library

In search of a more prominent place in the town of Aalten, the library Achterhoekse Poort ended up in a building right in the centre of town.

The library interior is light and simple with a contemporary use of colour and furbished with modern furniture.

Team Leader Mieke De Vette says: “We wanted to create a library with an inviting and open atmosphere where everyone feels welcome. Although the new library has a smaller area than the old library with less seating options, we have managed to utilize the space in the best way possible. We have done this by introducing new furniture, great colour schemes, and good design solutions that the visitors really like and are very positive about.”
