The organically shaped and spectacular building has become a magnet for both literary and architectural enthusiasts. The structure of the building is made of solid wood with an open atrium in the centre.

The library is located on one side, with the local bank and apartments on the other. This allows books, people and knowledge as well as economics and history to be gathered under one roof and create a common gathering place.

The use of wood as the main material reflects both the municipality's rich, local carpentry history as well as the shift towards using more sustainable material.

The library extends over two floors in the building with well-placed mingling areas in the centre and more secluded and intimate areas along the outer walls.
