Cosy contemporary knowledge center

After almost 30 years, Beernem's library was due for a thorough makeover and a future-oriented shift from a purely collection-oriented library to an experience library. With new lighting, customized furniture and new library shelving, a contemporary knowledge center was created where visitors are given a warm welcome. A new construction provides extra space, especially for the young readers. In the clearly legible interior, the visitor will find his way automatically thanks to a clear layout and signage. The use of color and materials with a Scandinavian touch brings visuel rest, but also homely cosiness to the lively library.

Assistant Sofie Pierins is delighted: “The visitors are very pleased with the changes. It’s a world of difference for them. The interior is flexible and radiates timelessness. Partly thanks to the chosen colors, the different zones in the library are clear to all readers. ”
