New reception and refreshened youth department

The renovated library of Tongeren offers a new reception desk, a refreshed youth department and an upper floor with a new multi-purpose room. After 28 years, the library was due for a thorough renovation.

The library has been transformed into a cosy living room, where it is pleasant to stay and relax. Visitors do not just come to the library to borrow books; they also use the library to study, to read the newspaper or to have a chat and the new comfortable lounge areas are ideal for this. New arrivals are presented at the entrance, as well as on the end panels of the shelving systems.
