The library in the shoe factory

In a building where there used to be a shoe factory, there is now a library, cinema, and several other businesses.

The library, which is spread over two floors, has become a warm oasis in the new cultural center. On the ground floor you find the children's and youth department with separate zones for children and young people. There is, among other things, a gaming room and an adventure room for dissemination of children’s literature. On the same floor, you also find self-service machines as well as an area for reserved materials.

The adult department is located on the 1st floor, where you will also find a small stage for events and a room for Makerspace. The Halden local history archive also has its own area in the library.

The library is generally furnished with shelving systems in both light and dark colors that complement each other and, together with the rest of the furniture, create an inviting and cozy atmosphere with room for all types of users.
