New shelving and reused furniture in stylish combination
In autumn 2022, the newly renovated library in Hustadvika, Eide, reopened with a blend of new shelving and reused furniture. The library features vibrant colours and an open, bright environment, thanks to its large windows and light-toned furnishings.
Library Manager Anne Husøy reports that the space functions well and is popular, particularly among children and the elderly. Children from a nearby school visit weekly, and visitors consistently praise the library for its pleasant, bright and inviting atmosphere. Similar to Hustadvika municipality's other library in Elnesvågen, which opened the following year, visitor numbers have seen a significant increase since the new premises were introduced.
The library aimed for a harmonious mix of new, functional shelving and counters, complemented by the reuse of existing furniture and book displays. Our Norwegian design team BS Eurobib has managed the layout and colour schemes, collaborating with a dealer to supply shelving systems, counters, display towers, book trolleys and more.
