New location and digital renewal

This calm and spacious library was earlier located outside the center of the city in rooms that were far too small. The service and daily operation of the library were also in need of a thorough digital renewal.

In 2022 the renovated library welcomes the public in a new building located in the centre of town. The Wezembeek-Oppem library is spread out over several levels and offers new collections of books, comics, graphic novels, mangas, and much more. The library also offers various reading and study areas.

Visitors can now make use of automatic lending podiums and new software, which has resulted in the library growing into a fully-fledged experience library.

Librarian Katrien De Groote says: “Our readers are super enthusiastic, and the library has experienced incredible growth in new registrations. The library is a beacon of tranquility and reliability and offers a stimulating step towards the discovery of the modern and digital world.”
