A welcoming, friendly and warm library
An opportunity to redesign the library to make it more pleasant and functional arose, when asbestos had to be removed from the building. There are now fewer shelving systems than before, which allows better circulation in the room. The library is divided into two different areas separated by an entrance hallway: a side for youth and a side for adults. The rooms are visually linked by the same use of colour and materials.
Fabienne Meul, librarian: “We chose soft, warm colours to make the library cozier. The seating furniture adds comfort and a homely feeling. Our readers are happy with the new developments. We have only received positive feedback.”
